I like to bat my big blue eyes at Mom and Dad when they tell me no. Then I smile and keep going. I get really mad though when they block me from my favorite things (the fireplace, the ficus tree and Brody's dishes).

Saturday in the Park
And just to update you all on what else is going on, I'm so over the waving and now I'm on to kissing. I get kisses all the time and so I had a lot of models to choose from. But the winning style is (drum role please)... open-mouthed licking kisses just like my best bud, Brody! Brody is very kind to practice with me whenever I want. Mom and Dad are funny, though. First they ask for kisses and lean in, but then they giggle and wipe their faces after I've planted one on them. What gives?

Getting very close to being independently mobile.
As soon as items come out of the dishwasher and go into the Tupperware drawer, I take them all out and lick them.
I've mastered the plank position. I tried out this new technique for pooping for a while. Wasn't it smart of me to head to the bathroom?

Do you see the lovely goose egg on my forehead? Just when one wound begins to heal, I get another. Since I think I'm so grown-up and like to get into everything, Mom and Dad have decided to treat me like a big girl, too. All in one weekend, I stopped getting formula and drinking out of bottles. Now I drink big girl milk and use sippy cups. I tried to refuse, but that didn't last long. Also, since I'm so good at taking things out (of whatever), now M & D are teaching me to put things in. I have to put all my bath toys in the bucket before I get out of the tub.

One Year Old!
Time to wash off the cake in the big tub. Daddy had to get in because I thought it was great fun to try and climb the sides. I swallowed a bit of water, but it didn't phase me.
Beep beep! Ba bye!
This is me with all the wonderful friends and family who came to my party. Thank you all for coming. (Bottom: Grandpa and Grandma C with Olivia, Grandma Great with Lexi, Grahame and Carole Savage, Grandma and Grandpa Mac with me; Top: Uncle Trent and Aunt Ginette with Lyla, Cousin Katie, Aunt Sue, Cousin Angela, Uncle Travis, Mike and Mackenzie, Sarah and Peter, Uncle Paul - with a broken ankle)
Gonna take a little time to myself over here. You all can carry on without me.
Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful cards and gifts! I am so loved, and I love you all back!
There was a lot going on, so this was my happy place.
Presents! Olivia and Lexi did all the work while I played with the paper.
My tights had to come off because they were caked with cake.
Yeah. I'm one.
After a while I started to mash it up a bit and blow raspberries at it. Some of the cake made its way into my mouth.
Everyone was waiting for me to tear into my cake, but I was very dainty. They all got bored pretty fast.
No thanks on the party hat.
Why is everyone singing and looking at me? I'm not sure if I like this.
Lexi was really nice to push me all over the place in my new car.
I got to wear a fun party dress and Mom even put a bow in my hair.
I had to get my beauty rest before my party started.
When the power went back on Grandma was able to start working on my cake. Then she decorated it on the morning of my birthday.
The power was out for about 10 hours that day, but Grandpa made a fire to keep us warm.
Hooray! I made it to Traverse City for my birthday weekend. Grandma and Grandpa Mac let me have my present a day early. Love it!
Here's one for the camera.
New letters for bathtime. Yum.
I am truly obsessed with my vaporizer. Since I figured out how to turn it on, I try to do it as often as I can. Mom and Dad usually remember to put it out of reach, but once in a while they forget or I find clever ways to get to it anyway. In this picture, I am injury-free. However, you will see that in all my birthday photos I am sporting a nice red scrape across the bridge of my nose. When I pulled a little too hard and this elephant came crashing down on my head one evening, I was not too happy. Did I learn my lesson? Absolutely not! Still love this thing.
